Plain concrete, turned into a custom surface

Stamped concrete gives you the high-end look of stone, brick or tile for a fraction of what those materials cost. We press patterns and textures into freshly poured concrete, add color, then seal it so the finish stays rich and easy to clean.

Every stamped project is a custom job. We help you choose a pattern and color palette that suits your home, plan the layout and borders, and time every step of the pour carefully, because stamping only works in a short window while the concrete is still workable.

    Why homeowners choose stamped concrete

It combines the look of premium materials with the strength and low upkeep of a single concrete slab.

    Looks like premium materials

Realistic stone, brick, slate and wood grain textures, with color that runs through the surface.

    Usually costs less

Stamped concrete typically costs less than natural stone or pavers for the same area.

    One solid slab

No loose pieces to shift or settle, and no joints for weeds and ants to move into.

    Low maintenance

Regular sweeping, an occasional wash and resealing every few years keep it looking new.

Detailed cobblestone design with leaf shadows in warm sunset light.

    Color options for stamped concrete

Color is what makes stamped concrete look like the real thing. We combine a base color mixed into the concrete with surface color that adds depth, so patterns look natural instead of flat.

Earth tones like tan, brown, gray and warm terracotta blend well with Northwest landscaping and hide everyday dirt. We can also create custom blends or a contrasting border color to frame the space.

    Integral color

Mixed into the concrete before it is poured, so the color runs all the way through the slab.

    Color hardener

Applied to the fresh surface for richer color and a harder, more wear-resistant top layer.

    Antiquing release

A second tone that settles into the texture and grout lines for a natural, aged look.

    Contrasting borders

A different color or texture around the edges to define the space and add detail.

Stamped concrete overlays for existing surfaces

If your current patio, walkway or driveway is structurally sound, you may not need to tear it out. A stamped overlay is a thin layer of new decorative concrete bonded to the old surface, then stamped and colored like a new pour.

Overlays usually cost less than full replacement and give you the same finished look. The key is the existing slab: it has to be stable, with no major settling or heaving. We check your concrete during the estimate and tell you honestly whether an overlay or a new pour is the better choice.

    Stamped concrete vs pavers

Both can look great. Here is how they compare on cost, upkeep and long-term performance.

    Stamped concrete

    Pavers

For patios, pool decks and walkways, stamped concrete gives you the paver look with less upkeep.

    How we install stamped concrete

Stamping is all about timing. Each step is planned so the pattern comes out crisp and the color stays even.

    1

    Design and color selection

We help you pick a pattern, color palette and border, then plan the layout to fit your space.

    2

    Site prep, base and forms

We excavate, compact the base, set forms for the right slope and place reinforcement.

    3

    Pour with integral color

Colored concrete is poured, leveled and floated to a smooth, even surface.

    4

    Hardener and release

Surface color hardener and an antiquing release agent are applied to build depth and stop the stamps from sticking.

    5

    Stamping at the right moment

We press the stamps in while the concrete is workable. Too early distorts the pattern, too late and it will not take.

    6

    Cure, clean and seal

After curing we wash off excess release, cut joints and apply sealer to lock in color and add a finished look.

What affects the cost of stamped concrete

Stamped concrete is priced by the details of your design. These factors have the biggest effect on your price.

    Size and shape

Larger areas cost more overall, and curves or tight corners take more time to form and stamp.

    Pattern and borders

Complex patterns, multiple patterns and decorative borders add labor compared to a single simple pattern.

    Number of colors

A single integral color is the most affordable. Hardeners, antiquing and multi-tone looks add cost.

    New pour or overlay

Removing old concrete and pouring new costs more than an overlay on a sound existing slab.

    Keeping stamped concrete looking new

Stamped concrete needs very little care. A few simple habits keep the color rich and the sealer doing its job for years.

    Sweep or blow regularly

Clear leaves and debris so they do not stain the surface or trap moisture.

    Wash with mild soap

Use a mild soap and water with a soft brush or low-pressure rinse. Skip harsh cleaners.

Reseal every 2 to 3 years

Fresh sealer protects the color from sun, water and stains and restores the sheen.

    Skip harsh de-icers

De-icing salts and chemicals can damage the finish. Use sand for traction on icy days instead.

    Clean spills quickly

Wipe up oil, grease and acidic spills right away so they do not soak in and stain.

Sealed stamped concrete can get slick when wet. We add a slip-resistant additive to the sealer and recommend textured patterns for pool decks, steps and walkways.

With a proper base and resealing every 2 to 3 years, stamped concrete can last 25 years or more.

Stamped concrete usually costs less and has no joints for weeds. Pavers cost more but individual pieces can be replaced. We can help you weigh both for your project.

Often, yes. If your slab is structurally sound, a stamped overlay can give it a new look without tearing it out. We check the slab during your estimate.

Like all concrete it can develop small cracks, but a compacted base, reinforcement and well-placed control joints keep them minor. Patterns with grout lines also help hide them.

Sweep regularly, wash with mild soap, avoid harsh de-icing salts and reseal every 2 to 3 years.
